Google releases new browser, Chrome

Chrome beta is available as a free download from http://www.google.com/chrome. I've just downloaded it and it works well. It's fast and utterly simple. The interface is not cluttered with a lot of cryptic menus and options. It does seems fast, faster than IE7.

According to a document released by Google, "Under the hood, we were able to build the foundation of a browser that runs today's complex web applications much better. By keeping each tab in an isolated "sandbox", we were able to prevent one tab from crashing another and provide improved protection from rogue sites. We improved speed and responsiveness across the board. We also built a more powerful JavaScript engine, V8, to power the next generation of web applications that aren't even possible in today's browsers."

I've also been playing with IE8 beta 2 and the latter has a lot of improvement over IE7 as far as speed is concerned. The two browsers-in-beta are both impressive and bodes well for the future. Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/beta/worldwide-sites.aspx?icid=ie8_asdf123.
