New chip brings Karaoke experience on your mobile

Chipnuts Technology Inc. introduces the C626 chip capable of playing Karaoke on your mobile. We have still to wait for a mobile constructor to incorporate the chip in their device. But the ability to walk around with karaoke in the pocket should be fun though.

"With the built-in, proven MP3 H/W decoder, C626 enables MP3 player functions at very low power consumption. C626 also integrates a 64-polyphony, 16-tone wavetable, 3-D surround MIDI synthesizer and 2/4bit ADPCM decode modulator. This saves the system cost from having to include a separate ring-tone MIDI chip. With the high-resolution ADC/DAC integrated, C626 is a complete audio solution offering recording and playback of voice and music. In addition, C626 is able to simultaneously play MPEG4, MP3, and MIDI to offer video Karaoke experience (Mini-KTV2 TM) on mobile phone with the use of Chipnuts’ proprietary MMDTM technology."
