Changing the homepage on non-touch screen devices prior to the release of Windows Mobile 6.1 was a pain. In fact it required a registry modification that, if not handled properly, might damage the device. Fortunately, Microsoft has been listening to customers and has made this very easy and risk-free to do.
Devices running Windows Mobile 6.1 have the option to change the default homepage in Internet Explorer Mobile. Open IE on the device, click Menu > Tools > Options. Select Homepage. In the dropdown list, you have the following choices: Use Default; Use Custom; Use Current.
If you select "Use Custom", you will be able to type in the website of your choice. You can do the same without having to manually enter the URL. In IE, navigate to the page you want to set as default. It is probably in your Favorites list. After the page opens, click Menu > Tools > Options > Homepage. Click "Use Current". VoilĂ !
